Door is happy to announce Bruce MacFadyen has joined the company as Chief Operating Officer. As COO, Bruce’s focus will be on strengthening the business strategy to ensure Door’s successful growth and expansion into new markets outside of Dallas-Fort Worth. Bruce brings over 20 years of top-level executive experience to the Door team and currently serves as board adviser to venture capital firm Blossom Street Ventures & Recurring Capital.
MacFadyen explained the new role, “When I met Alex Doubet, the founder and CEO of Door, I was instantly intrigued. I have spent the last 20 years split across the financial service and technology verticals, and what I heard that day was a story that I instantly wanted to be a part of - a visionary-led business with a relevant and disruptive business model in an industry that is ripe for disruption. Residential real estate.”
MacFadyen added, "Door is a next generation, tech-enabled residential real estate brokerage that has embraced both the need for a transparent and relevant pricing model and labor specialization. Door charges a flat fee of just $5,000 to clients for full-service real estate agent representation, regardless of the price of the home. In 2016, our average client savings was more than $14,000."
"From a labor specialization perspective, Door provides a single agent that is accountable to the client for the entire transaction. However, a critical part of the value Door brings, and the leverage inherent in the model that allows us to be bring down the transaction costs, is that each agent leverages experts across each component of the buying or selling process. This is a different approach than we have traditionally seen in the old-fashioned residential real estate model."
Welcome to the team, Bruce!
